Our charges
Our charges for jobs within the Christchurch Metro area are below. Charges may vary with time on site and the parts needed.
Repair on the spot: Minimum Labour charge, $124.20 including GST
If the technician can repair your appliance there and then with parts from the van, you pay our Minimum Labour charge. This covers up to half an hour on site, plus travel and administration, with $9 for every 5 minutes after that. Parts are charged on top.
Parts need ordering: Price to Quote Only, $103.50 including GST
If the technician needs to order parts in, you pay our Price to Quote Only charge. This covers up to 20 minutes on site, with $9 for every 5 minutes after that. More complex quotes may take more time and will be charged accordingly. We then come back to you in the following days with the price for the full repair.
Outside the Christchurch Metro area (including but not limited to Kaiapoi, Lincoln and Rolleston), prices differ depending on the area.
Payment on completion
The repair or quote fee is paid to the technician at the time of the repair or inspection. All our technicians carry Eftpos in their vans.
A surcharge of 2% applies to payment by credit card. There is no extra charge for Eftpos.
Terms & conditions
1. PAYMENT
The Customer shall pay for the time, quote or repair as well as any other related charges as noted on this Agreement.
(a) Accounts not settled by the time due may be charged interest at the rate of 2% per month.
(b) Should APPLIANCE SERVICES engage an agent to effect collection of outstanding debts, the Customer agrees to pay the cost of collection in addition to the outstanding debt.
2. RETURN OR DELIVERY OF EQUIPMENT
The Customer acknowledges pickup or return of the equipment shall be made within 72 hours of being notified by APPLIANCE SERVICES staff.
3. CUSTODY
The Customer is responsible for full payment and collection of the Appliance in a timely manner. This means arranging to pick up or deliver within 72 hours of being informed that the Appliance is ready. Failure to pay, collect, or arrange delivery may result in forfeiture of the Appliance, at the sole discretion of APPLIANCE SERVICES.
4. WARRANTY
APPLIANCE SERVICES warrants all repairs with a 6 months parts and labour guarantee. The warranty applies to the specific work performed on your Appliance only. If the Appliance fails within this period, APPLIANCE SERVICES will endeavour to inspect it in a timely manner. For any repairs required that fall outside the specific work previously carried out, the Customer agrees to pay APPLIANCE SERVICES for parts and labour as advised. APPLIANCE SERVICES is not responsible or liable for the failure of the Appliance to perform the task required by the Customer. Any warranty work needs to be either within the Christchurch Metro area, or brought to the APPLIANCE SERVICES repair workshop by the Customer as per the original repair.
5. ASSIGNMENT
The agreement and the rights pertaining therein shall not be assigned by the Customer to any other party.
6. DEFAULT
The Customer shall be in default of the Agreement and APPLIANCE SERVICES shall be entitled to the Appliance where:
(a) The Appliance has not been paid for, collected, or delivery arranged in a timely manner, this time being 72 hours from the time the Customer is advised the Appliance is ready, by phone, text or email as per the contact details supplied.
(b) The Customer has breached the terms of the Agreement.
(c) The Customer has committed an act of insolvency or bankruptcy.
(d) The payment or related charges owing on the Appliance are overdue.
7. INSPECTION
The Customer contracts APPLIANCE SERVICES to inspect the Appliance, quote and repair as required, and the Customer agrees to pay APPLIANCE SERVICES for time, parts & labour as charged.
8. LIABILITY
(a) APPLIANCE SERVICES shall not be liable for any consequential loss or losses due to any failure of the Appliance or in the event of any breach of the Agreement by APPLIANCE SERVICES.
(b) The Customer agrees to fully indemnify APPLIANCE SERVICES for all or any losses it may incur in respect of claims made against APPLIANCE SERVICES arising out of matters relating to the use of the equipment by the Customer or any other person during the term of the Agreement.
(c) APPLIANCE SERVICES shall take all care but no responsibility for the Appliance while it is in our possession.
9. ACCESS
The Customer will make the Appliance accessible for service, pick up or delivery. This means we need to be advised of the following before attending:
- Is the entry clean and clear?
- Are there stairs?
- Are the Appliances stacked and/or mounted on a wall?
- Is the Appliance specially integrated, and is the plumbing and electrical within reach and visible?
- Is there hidden debris, poorly maintained fixtures & fittings, or anything else that may add to the technician's time on site?
In failing to offer assistance in such situations, the Customer agrees to waive all claims against APPLIANCE SERVICES. We suggest you make your own arrangements for getting the Appliance out and available for service. We do not take responsibility for damage or breakage to gas lines.
